Lady Licorice

I went to my friends birthday party that was themed "Candy Land". SO we had to dress up as a character from the Candy Land board game. I dresses up as Lord Licorice's wife, Lady Licorice. I wore a red dress, with cherry licorice bracelets and necklace, and I put black and red twizzlers in my hair. I also had two black licorice kittens to go along with it. :)

Black cat report!

So...If you didn't know...In May, I started fostering three black kittens for the animal shelter where I work. One little kitten ending up not making it...but the other two did, and they are still healthy today! I ended up adopting them. That's what the employees at the animal shelter fondly call a "Foster Failure". :) They're names are Little Bear and Rosalie. Both are black with two white spots on their chests and bellies. The reason why I am writing this post is to promote the adoption of black cats. "Black cats don't get adopted nearly as frequently as other colors," said Kathleen Fram, the co-chair of adoptions for the Summit Animal Rescue Association, or S.A.R.A., a nonprofit rescue group. "People just pass them by." There isn't really a specific reason why black cats don't get adopted, it's not even a superstitious thing. Not all cats can be grouped just by their coat color, but black cats' temperaments have been studied, and it seems to be a majority of the black cats have a more rambunctious temperament, and have more energy than other colored cats. About 1/4 of cats euthanized in the U.S. are black cats, that have not been adopted. Very strange...but definitely something to think about if you are ever looking to adopt a cat. And I can vouch for black cats; they are amazing!!! :)

Back to School!

So....I'm going to Desert Mountain High School, full time, as a freshman. I have had alot of homework to do, for my honors classes before school, and almost have it finished. Not quite, and school starts tomorrow. *Whoops!* :P. The classes I am taking are; World History/Geography Honors, Geometry, Biology Honors, Spanish 1, English 1 Honors, and P.E. The freshman get to go to school tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. so they can get to know the school without all of the higher classmen getting in the way. Each period tomorrow, for the freshmen, is 13 minutes long. That's just for tomorrow. On regular days each period is about 50 minutes long. My mom and I went to Sport's Chalet and bought me a new backpack.

I am really excited, but nervous a little...So pray for me as I make this new transition!

Also, call me whenever so we can get together! I really will miss seeing all of you at K.E.Y.S., but I know I'll see you other places. :)

Angel and summer fun

So while I was cleaning out the chicks water bottle, I turned the hose on and Angel ran over to me and started biting at the water so I started spraying her with the hose and she LOVED it!! SO I decided to take some pictures. Here they are:

*I'm ready to play!!!**I'm herding the water!**I can't really catch water like a ball; can I?!*
I caught her in mid-shake! HahaEven after playing in the water, Angel got so hot she had to jump in the pool! My beautiful, blue-eyed pup! :)*I'm ready to play, again!*

My Easter Chicks.

I bought 4 new chicks before Easter. I know it has been a while but I just found time to post all of this new stuff. :) So...here are some pics of the chicks when they were new...

APRIL 8TH, 2009
This is their cage. The lamp for warmth, the red container for water and a little plastic plate for their food. When they get older, they will have a food container.
This is Sunshine. Christina named her. She is a Rhode Island Red hen. She is the most socialized. Even though she is the biggest, she will fall asleep in your hand. She also liked to rest her head on your thumb, when she was little.

This is Penny. I named her. She is also a Rhode Island Red hen. Out of the 4 chicks, she is the least socialized.

This is Fluffy. Conner named her. She had fluff sticking out every which way! Hence the name. She looks almost like a baby owl because of her eyes. She is an Americauna hen.

Last, but not least, this is Wolves. Sonce Cam did not want to name a chick, I named a chick for him. Wolves after his baseball teams name. I know your thinking...'Well why not Wolf? Or Wolfie? Why Wolves?' Well...I told Cam I named it Wolf and he said, "But my baseball team is a team of Wolves. Not a single Wolf." So I changed it... :P lol She is an Americauna hen and she is very sweet. She lets you pick her up and turn her on her back without a struggle.

Here they are all together. Try to guess which one is which!!!

Kittens!!!

I am working on my Silver Award (The highest award you can earn, as a cadette) for Girl Scouts. So I had planned to foster kittens from the animal shelter that I volunteer at a couple times a month(The AAWL). So just yesterday, I got an email saying that they had 5 bottle kittens for me. We got to the shelter and took 3 of them(Because 5 would be alot!!!)and brought them home. We have 2 boys and one girl. All 3 of them are black, but it looks like they will have some whute markings when they get older. So during the day I have to feed them every 3 hours, and every night we (my mom and I) take turns feeding the kittens every 3 hours, so I can get some sleep :P Here are some pictures(I will be taking more over the next 8 weeks):

I am attmpting to feed them. They really squirm!

Aren't they tiny?!

I have noticed that when they are hungry, they try to climb out of the bed! lol

Another interesting thing, they shave a part of the kittens fur so you can tell which one is which; I got a male with his right back leg shaved, a female with her left back leg shaved...and a male with a mohawk!!! They are all so cute.

Cardinals AND my birthday :)

We watched the Cardinal football game today, and as most of you already know, they won!!! It was pretty loud in my house after the last play, because everyone was cheering. I did not watch all of it,(Sorry football fans!!!)but I DID see the cool part where the Cardinals were losing, and then they caught up. That was pretty fun. I had fun watching the game with my family. AND after the game was over, we celebrated my birthday! Yep! My birthday was today :)

Day 3 December 30, 2008 - Islands of Adventure
Day 4: New Years Eve 2008 - (Couldn't get into Disney World - it was too full) Hollywood Studios and Downtown Disney

I took this picture...I think its cool how the Pleasure Island sign glows...Us kids eagerly awaiting the New Year.Mom and Dad's first picture in 2009!!
Day 5: January 2, 2009 - Kennedy Space Center

We met up with my cousins and aunt and uncle at the Kennedy Space Center and toured around there for the day.

Left to right, back to front: Cam, Andrew, me, Christina, Erica, Jessica, Conner.
Jessica and Christina riding to the next stop at the space center. Us, the cousins, and our aunt and uncle.
Day 6: January 3, 2009 - Cousins and a Lighthouse.

I took this picture...it looks so pretty. It is one of the biggest (widest and tallest) light houses in the world. We CLIMBED up all those stairs!!!We climed to the top of the lighthouse. Christina's scared of heights! The view up there is beautiful. This is Conner and I at the bottom of the lighthouse. Now that you have a scale to look at, isn't it HUGE!? The bottom of the lighthouses wall is 8 feet thick.
Day 7: January 4, 2009 - Saint Agustine and the Alligator Farm.

Our family excited to see some crocodilians
Conner's being eaten!!!
Me and Tina.
These are the small aligators. 1-4 footers.
Look how many there are!!!
An American Alligator going swimming. It's so hard to see them in even 3 feet of water!

Day 8 & 9: January 5 & 6, 2009 - Epcot (We flew home Teusday night.)
Our family by the famous Epcot ball.
We are under the big golf ball(That's what I call it!!!)My Dad was in a game show. He competed against another Mike and they had to change the dipars, and give a bottle to as many babys dolls as they could. Then stick the babys onto their aprons (the dolls had velcro on their backs). An airplane wrote God+U= Love.
Conner and I played a game in the room of 'The Future'. We tasted 8 popular sodas from all over the world. If you ever go, don't drink the Italy or Germany drinks!!! They are super gross! The China one is really good. It's watermelin flavored soda. The best part...you can taste all of them...for free!!!
Us having some frozen goodies after a long, hot day.

Isn't is beautiful!?
